WatchBox is a retail platform for the buying, selling, and trading of pre-owned luxury watches. It has a global reach and experience in the high-end watch market with an inventory of selections that feature thousands of pre-owned watches from premier brands.

As passionate watch enthusiasts in the business, Trika was tasked to deliver small mini-cases that can be carried by a single person to any part of their extensive showroom. The brief called for a customised presentation glass vitrine that has all the security features and robustness as an international museum showcase but with the elegance and refinement that a luxury watch retailer would be proud of.

A small cube-like glass box containing up to 9 pieces of luxury watches is instead carried effortlessly to a sitting customer, and opens magically, just like in a candy store.

The team at Trika formulated a new gas-spring operated opening mechanism that allows for an unhindered and smooth delivery of access with a fully-concealed high-security ABLOY lock. A quiet, frictionless sliding baseboard allows a typical tray of 6 men’s watches to ease forward in a whisper. Trika’s low-profile TDR aerospace case frame is finished in a dark anthracite grey using a special fluorocarbon paint finish to deliver an accurate colour retention throughout. Laminated high-security glass is from Schott’s Amiran anti-reflective glass that delivers less than 1% of reflections.
