Security

Security specifications of a showcase depends on the value and class of exhibits on display. They are the fundamental part of an overall security plan, which may include x-ray machines, alarms, CCTV, guards and other physical building protective measures.

A good showcase should have integral security features such as a secure structure to deter, fail-safe to prevent, resilient to protect, monitored to alert and robust to delay as part of the security planning.

Glass

Our preferred glass is laminated glass as this is formed by sandwiching a tough PVB polycarbonate interlayer between glass sheets and is the most suitable type of glass for use in museum showcases. Even when broken, the glass retains its structural integrity, providing a physical barrier to theft, preventing broken glass damaging exhibits and reducing potential danger to staff and public.

Locks

Abloy™ locks are our locks of choice. At Trika, we patented a three-point locking system that fully integrates a dual-bolt mechanical latch with a high-security Abloy™ lock. This twostep, double-locking system fully secures the door in place, seals and prevents access to the case in one single mechanical action.

Sensor devices for display cases comprise magnetic contacts fitted to opening panels, passive infrared motion detectors, break glass detectors, vibration detectors and movement sensors. All our cases are designed to be integrated with sophisticated alarms or sensor systems.
